About Me

Welcome to Cunningham Creative Services

Hi, I’m Cassandra Bumpus

I write and share stories to connect with others, inspire ideas, spark conversations, and motivate action.

Why I Do What I Do

I am continually inspired by you: the makers, creatives, and entrepreneurs. You work so hard to put something you are insanely passionate about out into the world, and your passion is part of the reason I started Cunningham Creative Services. I want to help share your stories in a way that will attract your ideal customers or clients. Words are so powerful, and I know that by writing the perfect content and copy for your brand, we will make it resonate with readers in a way they won’t soon forget.

Let’s make their jaw drop with your latest product. Let’s watch them flood your inbox with requests for your services. Let’s turn your target audience members into satisfied, loyal customers who are excited to tell everyone they know how outrageously awesome your brand is. Let me help you spread the word about your fantabulous-ness! (I promise I won’t make up words like that when we work together!)

Who Am I?

Before we work together, I think a proper introduction is in order!

I was born and raised on the Canadian prairies. I started to become a bookworm at an early age thanks to the many hours my parents spent reading to me. I have always loved books, stories, and good conversations. I’m naturally curious and love asking questions to learn more about people and their life experiences.

When I was six and a half months old, I was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis (CF), a genetic disease that primarily affects my lungs. At the age of 23, my lungs had failed so much so that I was on oxygen 24/7. There is no cure for CF, so on November 22, 2016, I received a double lung transplant which was then followed by many months of recovery.

When I had recovered enough to begin thinking about my career, it became clear that a typical 9-5 was not for me. Given my love for writing and the need to prioritize my health, starting my own writing business seemed like the perfect fit. My passion for research and learning kicked into overdrive as I began to learn about marketing and different types of writing. Starting a business also required a lot of research and preparation. Trust me; I have notebooks filled with my scribbles and an enormous folder of bookmarked resources. That’s just how I roll.

Today, I feel privileged that you trust me with your stories and ideas. I’m excited to show you how words can open doors for you and help your business grow!

Scottish Gaelic

1. storyteller

2. historian

3. keeper of lore and tradition

I am proud to name my business after my grandmother, Carole. She had Scottish roots and was a seanchaidh in the truest sense of the word. She was a talented writer with a quick wit. She passed away from cancer when I was quite young, so it saddens me that I wasn’t able to know her better. However, I have been told by many who knew her that I write just like she did. I can only hope so.

This one’s for you, Nana.
